Client Spotlight
October 2021:
Amber Morris!

Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote?
A: My new favorite quote was actually shared by another member in the FB group. "You're always one decision away from a totally different life". That quote hit me hard in a lot of ways. Not just my fitness goals but my personal life as well. I printed it and hung it above my desk at work just to keep me motivated!

Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals?
A: My personal goals are to be strong, fit, and healthy for me but also for my four daughters. As a single mother I am their everything. I have to set a good example for them in every area of my life. Health and fitness is not just about looking good, although that is a plus! It's about being healthy, eating healthy, staying active to live a healthy life. To be independent and strong and confident. When it hit me that I gained a good amount of weight I had to do something about it and I did! I have exceeded my original weight goal of 15lbs to 29lbs! My new goal is my BMI. I just want to be in a healthy range and I'm just about there!

Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals?
A: The way I feel now really keeps me focused. I can do things I could not do 4 months ago. Knowing I will continue to feel amazing keeps me going.  I remember my first class. I could barely run across the parking lot or row 15lbs. I wanted to cry. I was so frustrated with myself as someone who used to be very active and fit. I turned the frustration into motivation and kept it moving! Now I run around the block before my PM classes!!

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us?
A: Where do I begin!? I am originally from Woonsocket, RI. I moved when I was 19 to Hawaii and then to California where I spent about 12 years of my life.  I moved back "home" to RI 2 1/2 years ago due to my divorce... which I'm not mad about! I have four beautiful and talented daughters that really motivated me to reach out to Fit 2 the Core/NutritionWorks. I want to be around as long as possible for my beauties.  I work for a local Dealership in Internet Sales but my passion is creating beautiful events! I love to cook and dance, sometimes I do both at the same time! I got started with Fit 2 the Core/NutritionWorks because I got too comfortable with my Vino, Calvino (my Beagle) and Netflix! Enjoying home again, buying a house, and "living my best life" also added more weight than I expected! Shortly after my birthday in March I had to go shopping for a bigger size! I said no Amber. We are not doing this. This is not you!  Fit 2 the Core/NutritionWorks popped up on Facebook and the rest is history!

Q: How has Fit 2 the Core/NutritionWorks made a difference in your life?
A: I have been more consistent than I have ever been since joining in April. Those 5:30/6am workouts are tough if you are not a morning person like me but they got my butt moving! I am now up in the morning before my alarm clock! Even on days I am not scheduled to work out in the morning. I get more done! Someone once said to me... We all have the same 24 hours in a day.  What is stopping you from getting things done? Back then I didn't have a good answer. Kids, work, tired... Well, I realized since joining Fit 2 the Core/NutritionWorks it's being committed to your plan and being consistent!

Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far?
A: I exceeded my weight goal and will keep going! I also started running again with my two running buddies Michelle and Tracy that I would not have met if I didn't join!

Q: What is your “word” of the year?!
A: Visualize.

Q. What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?
A: I would ask what is stopping them and why? And what will change if they aren't willing to give it a try? What can you lose? Besides some pounds! ;)  We are all in control of our bodies and our minds. What we do with what is given to us can be great...
