We had the opportunity to talk with May and do a small Q&A.
Here is what she had to say:
Q & A with Vanessa… Karina: What is your favorite inspirational quote? Vanessa: Life is a journey not the destination.
K: What are your personal health and fitness goals? V: My goal it to try to maintain a balance in my life. With work fun fitness.
K: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals? V: My focus is to stay healthy and strong as I age. Stay off medication (cholesterol)
K: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us? V: I’m 61 years old today! I came to Fit to the core because I had let myself go! I was out of shape, over weight and my health was being affected. I was full of aches and pains and that what was keeping me from exercise.
K: How has Fit 2 The Core/ NutritionWorks made a difference in your life? V: Joining Fit to the core has helped me to get back to ME! Shortly after joining I could feel myself getting my strength back, my aches and pains were better and many of my hip problems has improved. The food challenges helped me to work on my bad habits which are a constant struggle for me. I was able to avoid having to get on medication for cholesterol my blood pressure is improved.
K: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far? V: I have lost 20 lbs and about 12 inches since my last Dr. appointment and my Dr. was so proud of me! That made me feel great! I have added cardio 3-4 times a week to my exercise routine and that is something I never did before. It has made a big difference in the way my clothes fit.
K: What is your “word” of the year?! V: My word of the year? CARDIO CARDIO CARDIO!
K: What made you decide to want to join Fit 2 The Core / NutritionWorks ? V: I was desperate and realized I couldn’t do it on my own. I needed professional help!
K: What kinds of results have you achieved so far? V: I have lost about 20 lbs and about 12 inches and 7-9% body fat since I joined in February 2016. I am stronger and I am no “a jogger”!
K: What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals? V: I would advise someone who is undecided weather to join Fit to the core to put yourself first on your list! This is a strong and supportive atmosphere that is patient and encouraging yet not judgmental. When you fall off the wagon they help you back up. I continue to struggle with my eating but this group helps me to stay focused and keep pushing forward!
