"My name is Elizabeth and I was born and raised in Rhode Island. Outside of the gym I am an elementary school educator, activist, wife, and mother. In my free time I work for PumpSpotting to support breastfeeding mothers and I advocate for preemies/NICU families. The past 6 years have been a whirlwind for me as I navigated grief after suffering from recurrent pregnancy loss prior to the birth of my daughter Xena-Faye; who was born at 22 weeks in 2019. When I got pregnant with my son in 2021, I was unable to exercise due to being at high risk for preterm labor which led to a significant amount of weight gain.
I joined Fit 2 the Core this past spring and it's been the best decision I could have made for myself and my family. After the birth of my son I weighed close to 300 pounds. This was heartbreaking for me as I gained almost 100 pounds in 2 years. On a whim during April vacation, I googled local gyms and I found Fit 2 the Core. After I spoke with JuJu, I knew this was a place I could grow physically and mentally. The 21 day challenge reignited my passion for working out and healthy living and I really loved how the classes incorporated cardio and strength training. Every trainer that I have encountered has been extremely supportive but I have to give a special shoutout to Lisa and the 5:15 crew who continue to cheer me on and motivate me daily. Since joining the gym despite my physical limitations, I have lost 4 pant sizes and gained a ton of confidence. In 7 months I have accomplished so much and feel stronger than ever. I've been on several weight loss journeys but this journey by far has been the most rewarding. I'm thankful for this small but mighty gym community and I look forward to more gains in the future!"
