Before beginning the New Year, New You Challenge I wasn't happy with my weight.  I felt unhealthy and didn't feel good about myself.  I was exercising on my own 2-4 times  a week but nothing was changing.  My weight stayed the same.  I realized it had to be due to my diet.  When I heard about NutritionWorks' NEW YEAR, NEW YOU Challenge I decided to give it a try.  I was guided on proper nutrition and, efficient types of exercise that would enable me to lose the weight and body fat I wanted to lose.  I was not disappointed.  I began eating 3 healthy meals and 2 snacks a day, and was participating in small group training with 3 other women 2 times a week, doing cardio 2 days a week, and completing a small workout on my own or with a couple of other women.  My weight and body fat were dropping.  I began realizing the positive effects of healthy eating and proper exercise.  I now know food is not the enemy when eating  proper portion sizes. No more diets for me.  I have learned  how to make healthy choices I can live with for the rest of my life.   I love the new me and am amazed at how I look and feel!!!  Mona Britnell

I could never thank you enough for all of your help getting me
off the diet rollercoaster! I have always found that when I lose
weight I soon put back on the pounds I just lost.

Your approach is different. It isn’t a “diet” with a lot of
restrictions and starvation. The best part, especially when I was
first starting out, was that you incorporated the foods I was
already eating and liked. As you know, I did struggle at the
beginning of the program. I felt very overwhelmed with eating out
often and I treated each meal that I ate out like a “splurge”. I
have learned so much about nutrition and eating healthy I am more
aware of what I put in my body and now make better choices at a
restaurant! I also learned that preparing ahead is important.
Packing a snack with me if I am running out is better than
grabbing something while I am on the go. Best of all, I don’t
crave the bad foods I use to. The cravings are gone! Thank you
for all of the recipes, strategies and good ideas you have given
me. It has help me be successful.

Camille, your passion for nutrition and exercise is obvious, as
well as your commitment to your clients. You really put your
heart and soul in and give your clients a lot of time and
attention….. You even invited us to your house for our last
class! You give 100% to each client and that is why I think I
have done so well. I truly feel like this is a lifestyle that I
can maintain.

Thanks again, Karen

Fit 2 The Core, Nutrition Works RI in Cranston owned and operated by Camille Durante is a wonderful place to come and learn about nutrition and fitness.  Camille is wonderful, she has an abundance of patience teaching the right technique for each exercise she comes up with and is right there with you as you go through a particular routine.
I came to Camille in the middle of January looking for help.  I had let myself go due to situations in my life and I knew I had to take responsibility for how out of shape I had become and to educate myself on proper nutrition for an overall healthy lifestyle.  Since January 21st, I have been attending 3 to 4 training sessions per week and two cardio sessions.  I feel great and the transformation my body has gone through in the past 9 weeks is more than I could have imaged.  I have lost 14lbs, 4.8% of my body fat and 14.75 inches throughout my entire body.  I am doing exercises that I never thought I could do and I am feeling so good about me.  I owe it all to Camille and her coaching techniques.  Her biggest motto is “you CAN do it”.  Never say “I will not be able to do a particular exercise”.
Besides Camille’s great teachings is the atmosphere of Fit 2 The Core itself.  When you walk in to her gym you are greeted by wonderful people who are so supportive of one another.  Everyone encourages each other to push through a routine and each and every one of the women at the gym are all caring and want each other to succeed.  We laugh and have a great time while we are exercising.  In the 9 weeks of coming to classes there has never been a routine used twice; that is how dedicated Camille is in making each and every session interesting and to have us get the most out of a session.
If you are thinking of trying one of Camille’s classes I highly recommend it.  You have to be ready because it is a life changing commitment but one you will be glad you started.   As Camille has told me from day one, you have to take small steps to achieve lifelong results.  I am living proof of her expert advice, knowledge of proper nutrition and exercise routines.  What are you waiting for!!!!   Diane Parrillo

In January of 2011, I presented myself to Camille from Nutrition Works, in desperate need of a plan for weight loss. I had quit smoking in November, and while I was not a heavy smoker, I managed to gain around seven pounds. This was in addition to the five pounds I had gained since Halloween. I was so happy to have quit smoking, but still felt lethargic and unmotivated to exercise, the twelve extra pounds made me feel awful about myself.
My daughter and I train with Camille, so I already knew what a great motivator she is, but I wasn’t buying it when she told me that I needed to eat MORE! Camille devised a plan for me that allowed me to eat more than I ever had, but the food choices were healthy, delicious and included many of my favorites! I never felt deprived and her constant encouragement kept me motivated to keep eating this way, not as a diet plan, but as a way to eat for life.
In all, I’ve lost between thirteen and fifteen pounds (depending on the day), but I’ve gained some valuable knowledge in how “nutrition works” with my body. I’m exercising around five days a week and feel great! I am grateful to Camille for giving me the tools I needed to turn myself around!! Thank you Camille!!!!!

My doctor had been telling me for years to lose weight but I was stubborn. I had tried many "diets" but none of them worked long-term.
My doctor recommended Camille at NutritionWorks and said women older than me, who don't exercise, had gone there and lost weight so it might be the right place for me! After a few more weeks of knee pain every time I went up and down the stairs, I finally gave in and called Camille. Right from the beginning she was what I needed. She told me I would only get out of the program what I put into it and she was right. We have always been honest with each other and I haven't been perfect but I have lost 50 lbs in 10 months! I no longer have knee pain when I use the stairs in my house and I feel so much healthier. I still have more weight to lose but now I know I can do it! Thanks to Camille and NutritionWorks I have the tools I need to be a healthier person …
YOU’RE LIKE THAT GOOD ANGEL SITTING ON MY SHOULDER. I ATE AT A PORTUGUESE FOOD RESTAURANT LAST NIGHT, AND INSTEAD OF GETTING MY FAVORITE STEAK, IGOT FISH, AND SKIPPED ON THE DESSERT, SO WHAT YOU'VE TAUGHT ME IS STILL
IN MY HEAD.

From Tina...

Dear Camille,
Thank you so much for your help and guidance the past 12 weeks of my "new way of life".  I have learned so much about nutrition, eating, and exercise.  I will admit that early on when you increased my calories and number of meals each day from what I had been doing for years,  I was so skeptical.  How could I eat more and lose weight?  But now I know it was what I was eating.  I see why when I first called you about a "diet plan", you said this was not a diet.  It truly is a way of life and fortunately for me, I love the foods I eat. I also remember you telling me that many of those cravings I have will subside over time.  Again, I had my doubts but because I'm really not depriving myself of the things I enjoy, I don't have those brutal cravings. Thank you also for all the recipes you gave me and also for helping me change some of our family favorite recipes to healthier versions.  I feel so much better about myself and know I am a healthier person.  Because of my results, two of my best friends are now enrolled in your program.  Thank you so much and I look forward to working with you again the next 12 weeks!!

The name says it all, NUTRITIONWORKS!
Food has always been my comfort. The more calories, the more fat, the more comfort. I have tried every shortcut you can name to loose weight. Groups, drinks you name it I failed at it. I gained and gained which caused me to eat and eat it was a crazy cycle. I have known Camille for many years. I have always tried to at least exercise. In my mind that was just another excuse to eat what I wanted. "I can have this I worked had today".
Well, needless to say my thinking and my actions were not working. Camille had talked to me in the past about my weight and tried to help me but, to say the least I can be stubborn! Finally after losing my job and being at the heaviest I have ever been, I was ready to listen. I started with Nutrition Works in February and now it is August and I am 65lbs lighter. What a difference! I wont say that it has been easy, because nothing worth it is. I fought it. I told myself I would never write down everything I ate. Again my stubborn side showing. Well once you start it is hard not to write it all down. My eyes were opened to how many calories and fat are actually in the food I used to think were good for me. I now look forward to seeing what I ate every day. As for the comfort, well that is still there too. NutritionWorks has shown me how to make good choices and still feel good. I will say that every now and again I may slip, but thanks to Nutrition Works, I don’t beat myself up and spiral out of control again. I know how to get past it and make the smart choices. It is not about denying yourself it’s about making choices. Mayla Warwick, RI

" I have tried many diets in my life. Some were successful some not so. The problem was after the initial weight loss the pounds would pile back on with some extra. To me a diet had a beginning and an end. Having learned nothing about how to eat, just how to deprive myself. This is no way to live. Nutrition works! I have never lost this much weight by eating so much food on any diet. I feel better and healthier than I have in the past. It's all about making informed choices that you can live with."
Jillian, Cranston, RI

Thank you for today's uplift. I am traveling to New York today and needed it. I am in a positive place for now thanks to you. Thanks Camille. Kathy B. Cranston,RI

I WORKED OUT AT THE GYM FOR AN HOUR TONIGHT.
I FEEL GOOD WHEN I EXERCISE, AND I HAVE TO KEEP REMEMBERING TO USE THIS AS A TOOL. AND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A REALLY STRESSFUL SITUATION, I KEPT IT TOGETHER, AND I HAVE YOU TO THANK FOR THAT. :)
THANKS. MARY Johnston, RI

In my 12 weeks with Nutritionworks, I am finding that the way I take care of myself has taken a turn for the good! I am more aware of what, when and why I eat - and what is the best thing to keep a balance diet. Also, Nutritionworks has motivated me to get out and exercise more. Probably the most important lesson I learned on this program - is how to take good care of myself! - Jean

One thing that could be said about me was that I was a “picky eater”. As it turns out, I can’t really say that anymore. Once I decided to take the 12-week course with Camille I found that when I tried things like brussel sprouts and cottage cheese-at her suggestion-I actually liked food that was “good for you”. Camille was so supportive of my desire to change the way I ate. The first six weeks flew by and when I got on the scale to be weighed I had lost 25 pounds! Next, I started with and exercise routine and the next six went by just as quickly. I had lost another 16 pounds.  The biggest change for me was planning out my meals. I know that if I have any questions about continuing down this path of better eating and exercise I can call Camille and she will make time to meet with me. I highly recommend that you find out about better nutrition with Camille at Fit 2 the Core NutritionWorks!  -Kate Myette

I started working out at Fit 2 The Core because my husband wanted to get into shape for our upcoming wedding.  I have always been on the thinner side.  More like a skinny-fat side. Meaning, I was thin but no muscles. Mostly because my day would consist of a coffee from Dunkin Donuts, a muffin for lunch, and a couple boxes of candy.  Yes I said boxes!!   Camille taught us what foods to eat and how to workout.   It wasn't easy, but then I started to notice my clothes fitting better. Next I noticed muscle definition in my arms.   That's when I knew I could continue to do this.  As time went on I decided I wanted to help people become healthy.  So I took the personal trainer course, which was also very difficult, since I haven't been to school in 20 years, I studied very hard and I passed!   So I am now a personal trainer and I hope to inspire people the way Camille has inspired me.  Thank you, Dawn Reali

Physical Therapy Client Testimonials

I have been training with Camille for a couple of years now and last November I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease she has been wonderful with modifying my training so I may continue to exercise.  She understands what I can and cannot do.  Camille is a kind and caring person who has a lot of knowledge in her field of personal training and nutrition she's been wonderful to work with.  Patricia Marotti

I have been working out with Camille for about twelve years. Through the years I have developed many issues, some short term and some long term. My most recent and chronic issues are my back and knee.  I have gone for physical therapy on these issues  which really helped. I have come to realize that physical therapy goes along with working out.  With Camille's help at Fit 2 the Core, I can work out with confidence that she will be mindful of and address my issues.  The more I work out the stronger  I become.  Pat Reali

Camille Durante has been my personal trainer for over 5 years.  She is the best trainer and friend anyone could have.
This year I had injured my left shoulder and right knee.  I had arthroscopy surgery to my knee and had physical therapy to both shoulder and knee.  When I was able to return to working out with Camille, she said I would need a letter from my physical therapist stating what was wrong and what exercise I could do.  She also called my therapist and talked to her personally.  She has worked with me and given exercises that would not affect my prior injuries.  I think Camille is the best trainer anyone could work with. Arleen Latek

As someone who has undergone seven hip surgeries and currently receives prescribed physical therapy services as a result of those surgeries, I value the opportunity to engage in the fitness benefits by working out at Fit to the Core.  Camille Durante is very knowledgeable regarding my physical issues. The program she provides at the facility is a strong support to my ongoing personal efforts to maintain physical fitness.  The activities she prescribes also appropriately compliment the therapies recommended by my medical providers.  I have made great progress since my most recent surgery and attribute much of my increase in stamina, agility and overall fitness to the personal attention I have received at Fit to the Core.  Joanne Fede
