Q: What is your favorite inspirational quote? A: I have lots! But my most current favorite is "When you really want something, you will find a way. When you don't really want something, you'll find an excuse" -Rachel Hollis
Q: What are your personal health and fitness goals? A: I lost 20 pounds last year and I want to maintain that weight loss. I love to eat and focusing on mindful eating and moderation is a continuing goal. I also want to continue to gain muscle, and increase flexibility and weight bearing exercises to maintain bone strength and avoid injury.
Q: What ONE thing keeps you most focused and motivated to continue to work hard to reach your goals? A: I am a single parent, so staying healthy and strong for my children is my ONE thing!
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started with us? A: I am a teacher and adjunct professor at RIC in the Special Education department. I have 3 children age 14-23. I have dealt with some significant health issues and personal loss over the last 5 years, and I needed some help refocusing on my physical and mental health. After doing some research, I found Camille! Her focus on personal attention and customizing fitness and nutrition goals to meet my individual needs at that point in my life were a perfect match for what I needed.
Q: How has Fit 2 The Core/NutritionWorks made a difference in your life? A: The personal attention, consistent and POSITIVE accountability, and the general "vibe" of the gym has converted me from someone who only exercised to lose weight, to someone who sees exercise and healthy eating as a way to maintain both physical and mental health. All of the trainers are amazing at making the classes motivating, personalized, and fun.
Q: What kinds of milestones have you accomplished and what specific results have you achieved so far? A: I have lost weight and inches, increased the amount of weight I can lift, and can actually run 2-3 miles on the treadmill, and I always thought that I hated running. But most importantly, I have consistently incorporated exercise and mindful eating into my weekly routine and my classes are written into my calendar in pen, not pencil! Working out is not optional anymore for me, but a vital part of feeling healthy and strong.
Q: What is your word of the year? A: Bloom 🙂
Q: What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change and committing to their goals? A: Life is all about moving forward, even when it seems really hard. Achieving goals that you have set for yourself is an incredible feeling and makes you realize you are stronger than you think.
